Another distinctive creation from Don's drawing board is the Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate (?84 ??; meaning "Gale"). This single-seat fighter was operated by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service during the final two years of World War II. The Allies referred to it by the reporting name "Frank."
